The Freeport Educational Foundation (FEF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Freeport, NY founded in 2013. The mission of the FEF is to change the lives of the children in the Freeport Public Schools by funding innovative educational programs that provide extraordinary learning experiences.

Our board oversees all fundraising efforts and decision-making regarding the distribution of funds to the Freeport Public Schools.
We raise money through outreach programs with alumni and community residents, as well as through corporate sponsors and individual donors. Aside from that, we conduct various fundraising activities that will provide an opportunity to raise money to support our mission.
All of the money we raise will be used to sponsor innovative grants and scholarships within the Freeport Public Schools to enhance the learning experience and success of the children of our community.

The Freeport Education Foundation has been acknowledged by Nassau BOCES with the 2022 Nassau BOCES Partner in Education award. Since its inception in 2013, the members of the Freeport Education Foundation, a nonprofit organization, have dedicated themselves to the service of the Freeport Schools students and staff. The FEF has raised more than $250,000 to support grant programs and scholarships for Freeport students. Annually, the FEF has funded more than $30,000 in mini-grant programs that promote student excellence. The district staff is invited to apply for a grant offering a maximum of $2,500 to support the implementation of innovative ideas, themes or other classroom-based education projects. Each year, the FEF presents Freeport High School seniors with $500 scholarships based upon their essay applications. In the past six years, the FEF has funded $27,000 in scholarships. The FEF has also funded more than $26,000 in larger items donated to the district, including a baby grand piano and a sousaphone, funding an opportunity for students to build an atomic force microscope with Brookhaven National Laboratory and providing a softball field scoreboard. In the fall, the FEF funded a Family Fun Day which brought together staff, students, families and the entire community for fun, food and games.
